Highly successful end to tour in Scandinavia

First presentation on future link between ARIS from IDS Scheer AG und Software AG’s webMethods

Saarbruecken, November 12, 2009
Wednesday, November 11 and Thursday, November 12, 2009, marked the final stop of ARIS ProcessWorld on Tour ´09 in Copenhagen. Based on the theme “Discover the Value of Business Process Management”, some 250 attendees from across Europe, plus the American continent, Asia, and Australia, were introduced to new Process Management concepts. Proven application scenarios, scientific research findings, and discussions about the future challenges faced by processes and IT were the focus of this year’s event. The first presentation dealing with future integration of ARIS and webMethods generated particular interest as well.

IDS Scheer used ARIS ProcessWorld on Tour to showcase its latest ARIS software products, proven consulting services, and innovative best practices, all of which are designed to boost customers’ business performance. Attendees of ProcessWorld on Tour had the opportunity to try out new products that start shipping in September, including ARIS Process Governance Engine, ARIS Mashzone (mash-up technology), ARIS Express (free to download online), and ARIS Process Performance Manager 5.0.
As the world’s largest forum for process owners and IT decision makers, ARIS ProcessWorld has been offering a unique mix of theory and practice for many years, but this was the first such event in Scandinavia. As usual, speakers included not only IDS Scheer’s own experts but also many partners and leading German and international companies from different sectors, such as Infineon, The Coca-Cola Company, SAP AG, Accenture, Tieto, Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe, Volvo, and Standard Bank South Africa.
Dr. Wolfram Jost, member of the IDS Scheer Executive Board, used the opportunity to provide initial insights into future integration of ARIS with webMethods from Software AG. His core message was that full integration of ARIS with webMethods will take BPM to a new level. At the same time, he stressed that ARIS will remain independent and there will be no changes to the existing partner strategy.
At the start of the event, Peter Gérard, CEO and President of IDS Scheer, presented a Special Award for Business Process Excellence to His Royal Highness Prince Khalid of the Saudi Arabian royal family. Prince Khalid was recognized for his commitment to a very successful BPM project in his country’s Interior Ministry. This successful pilot project is set to lead to further Business Process Management projects in the Saudi Arabian public sector.
