Press release issued by Bette Kun
Johannesburg, 3 Sep 2010

Following the approval of final legal and global agreements to merge IDS Scheer with Software AG, Software AG South Africa has signed up local ARIS VAR, Collaborative Process Integration (CPI).

The ARIS local exclusive value-added reseller since 2001, CPI's core business is the sales and technical support of the ARIS platform.

With their extensive experience with ARIS and ours with webMethods, CPI is a great partner for us to bring on board,” says Software AG South Africa country manager, Emma Murray. “Their customer base, which includes over 40 companies from the SA top 100 as well as many parastatals such as Transnet, show a similar approach to service excellence as practised by ourselves.”

Jay Kleynhans, technical director at CPI, says they are excited about the future relationship with Software AG. “Working together, we can offer customers a full suite of services and solutions, from design to implementation, training and support. We now have the full might of Software AG behind us and can already see the combined benefits we bring to our customers.”

“The value to our customers may be seen in our unique portfolio for process strategy, design, integration and control; SOA-based integration and data management; process-driven SAP implementation; and strategic process consulting and services,” continues Murray. “The merger with IDS Scheer closes the loop for delivery to customers of a complete solution of business process excellence. CPI rounds out our ability to deliver improved business processing to our customers and prospects and to increase growth across all sectors. It's a win-win solution for us and we are delighted to welcome them on board.”

Darmstadt and Saarbruecken, Germany, May 18th, 2010 - IDS Scheer, the top international provider of business process management (BPM) solutions, continues to promote open standards by supporting the BPMN 2.0 modeling language for process models, and highlights its leading position and methodology. With the release of its Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) 2.0 Beta version, the Object Management Group (OMG)—a computer industry consortium that works to develop standards for non-proprietary cross-platform object-oriented programming—has taken the next step toward the future of modeling notation. Users can describe business processes and workflows in different BPMN models with the help of semantic elements. New features include a standardized export format and mapping to other XML-based software products. Executing BPMN process models in workflow and process engines is yet another improvement. For the first time, special models for collaborative processes support representing cross-functional and departmental processes within a company.IDS Scheer has supported BPMN in its ARIS product line since the notation's initial release and is updating its products to the newest BPMN 2.0 specifications. This places all the leading notations for describing business processes and workflows such as event-driven process chains (EPC), value chains, BPMN and UML at the ARIS user's fingertips. Business and technical processes modeled in ARIS can be seamlessly transferred and implemented in execution platforms such as Software AG's webMethods BPMS. ARIS Express for beginners, available free of charge at http://www.ariscommunity.com/aris-express, has also been expanded to include BPMN and contains models and objects to describe processes using this method. All content generated there can be used and edited later with professional ARIS platform products. The ARIS Community offers a series of free BPMN sample models and a forum moderated by BPMN experts.Executive Board member Dr. Wolfram Jost (responsible for products and development) states: By supporting the latest BPM notation, IDS Scheer is demonstrating its defined approach to market leadership as a key player in the BPM market. For our customers, this offers investment security for the future and the certainty that IDS Scheer and ARIS will remain their reliable partners. We are further ensuring that processes defined by different departments are also implemented on the IT side, which in turn helps companies improve their performance and flexibility.”About IDS Scheer
